The Polar Express


 The holiday classic The Polar Express will make its annual scheduled stop at the Tillotson Center this year on Sunday, December 18 at 2 p.m. The animated presentation is sponsored by Granite Bank, Geo. M. Stevens & Sons, Inc., Hicks Hardware, and Hills Department Store. All seats are $3.,​Hot chocolate and candy canes f​or​ all passengers!  

The Secret Life of Pets​


Ever wonder what pets do when you shut the door and go off to work? Apparently, quite a bit, according to the animated adventure “The Secret Life of Pets”, which will be shown at the Tillotson Center on Thursday, December 22 at 2 p.m. All seats are priced at $3.​ ​The concession will be open selling popcorn and soda.

The following scholarships are available in the guidance office for seniors and one is for grades 9-12:



The American Legion High School Oratorical Contest

·         Requirements ~ Open to all Grades 9-12, but only one student can be chosen from each school in New Hampshire, Must speak an oration which takes not less than eight nor more than ten minutes from memory of some phase of the U.S. Constitution.  In addition , be prepared to speak on an assigned topic on a selected Article or Amendment of the U.S. Constitution for three to five minutes.

·         Deadline ~ All district contests will be held before February 29, 2017, so if you are interested please see Mrs. Pettit before December 20th.


Educational Scholarships from the National MS Society

·         Requirements ~ Students who have been diagnosed with MS or who have a parent with MS.

·         Deadline ~ January 18, 2017

·         nationalMSsociety.org/scholarship


New Hampshire JCI Senate

·         Requirements ~ Graduating high school senior who is a US Citizen who fills out the application

·         Deadline ~ Postmarked on or before January 20, 2017


New Hampshire Water Pollution Control Association Student Scholarship

·         Requirements ~ Applied to a college for a major in Water Pollution Control, Environmental Science, Engineering, or Chemistry along with an application.

·         Deadline ~ Postmarked by March 10, 2017

·         Requirements ~ Must have a 3.0 or higher, completed 2 or more FCS related courses, one recommendation from your FCS teacher and one from your guidance counselor, and an application.

Friday’s Christmas caroling in the village has been moved to the church hall due to extremely cold temperatures.  See you there for fun at 7:00.


Chorus - Chorus will rehearse Thursday during study hall. The bus will leave Pittsburg Thursday at 5pm for the concert in Colebrook on Thursday evening. The bus will return to Pittsburg School after the concert.

New bell on the schedule for the Stewartstown bus!  Try to contain yourselves until the bell that dismisses you rings at 2:33, or until the buses are clear for walkers and private vehicles!  Thank you for being so able to adapt to change!  


Please return your first day paperwork to your homeroom teacher no later than Friday, September 9th.  The first homeroom that returns all of their completed paperwork get to loot my special stock of office supplies!

‘The Jungle Book’ Comes Alive

on Big Screen at Tillotson Center

“The Jungle Book,” Disney’s live-action film based on Rudyard Kipling’s famous adventure story, is the next family-friendly movie slated for the Tillotson Center. It will be shown on Saturday, September 3. The presentation, made possible by a grant from Plum Creek, will begin at 2 p.m. All seats are $3.

According to the movie database IMDb, “After a threat from the tiger Shere Khan forces him to flee the jungle, a man-cub named Mowgli embarks on a journey of self discovery with the help of panther, Bagheera, and free spirited bear, Baloo.”

This 2016 animated presentation features the voices of Bill Murray as Baloo, Ben Kingsley as Bagheera, Scarlett Johansson as Kaa, and Idris Elba as Shere Khan.

Popcorn, candy, snacks, and soft drinks will be available at the Tillotson Center’s concession stand. The lobby will open at 1:30 p.m.
